YOU WERE MADE TO BELONG

The Bible is loaded with “one another” statements — like “love one another,” “encourage one another, “bear another’s burdens,” “be at peace with one another,” and “serve one another.” We’re made to need and belong to each other, whether our actions are heroic or not.

Belonging is about finding the people who have your back, lift you up, feel your pain, miss you when you don’t show up, and value you for being you. It's not quite love and it's not just community. It's just this feeling that there are people, an abundance of people, who are in this together. And so we are.

The heroes in God's story don’t wear capes, brightly colored tights or have superpowers. They are ordinary people, in their everyday presence, doing little things for one another and sharing life together.

God didn’t send Captain America to save today from a world of brokenness. God sends you in the company of others.

So how can you begin? It’s simple — jump into a group and “bring your curiosity, enthusiasm and joy.”

Check the listing of events for information on upcoming small group gatherings.

“Life is better connected.”
